Scripture for today: Isaiah 63; Isaiah 64; Psalm 107; John 2
Scripture-My special verse today: Psalm 107:41 But he lifted the needy out of their affliction
and increased their families like flocks.
42 The upright see and rejoice,
but all the wicked shut their mouths.
43 Whoever is wise, let him heed these things
and consider the great love of the LORD.
Observation: Even though many are not walking with the lord, the psalmist declares that God has not forgotten his faithful. He remembers those in need and meets their needs. He does not turn his back on those who are faithful in their time of need. Isaiah has also discussed how many people called themselves people of God but have completely turned their backs on him. He declares that, though man may forget God, God never forgets man. The psalmist declares that those walking uprightly with the lord will rejoice for God, while those who have turned away will have nothing to say. He declares that the wise man will consider the love of God and heed those things.
Application: Do I feel connected to God day in and day out? Am I willing to believe God is always there for me, no matter what the situation plays out to be? I know he will always remain faithful to me because he is true to his word. And, his Word declares he will never leave me or forsake me. Although the world may seem to no longer care about being in God’s favor, I care very much. I want to love him in a way that is everlasting and renewing on a daily basis. SOAP allows me to come before his throne and “consider the great love of the Lord,” a time I can set aside to thank him for all the things he has done to bless me in my life.
Prayer: Let me praise you loud enough so everyone can hear!! Let me thank you each and every day for your many blessings. You truly are holy and I feel honored that you are my God. Thank you!!
